TIME-TESTED TESLA TECHNOLOGY In 1916, scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla patented a “lightning rod that inhibits lightning.” This dome- shaped apparatus was never used in Tesla’s time, but it is that rediscovered patent that the CMCE is based on. This 100-year-old technology is still virtually 100 percent effective today. Tesla explained that conventional lightning rods, instead of protecting property and people, actually attract lightning, increasing the chances of electric discharge and consequently the risks.
